Lesson

One film, one single.

By the middle of the decade a movie could leave the theater on a videocassette and play again at home. That is the setting. The example is one Saturday.

Universal Pictures released The Breakfast Club in the United States on February 15, 1985. John Hughes wrote and directed it. Five students spend a day in detention. Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” plays over the opening and the close, and the single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The film is one school day. The song is how that day kept circulating after the ticket was gone.

This page does not stream the movie. If you want the sound of the same years, use Hits.
